Reviews for this Album

What an album. That's really all that can be said. Folds has really outdone himself with this one. The style remains classically him, and yet there is a spin, with the addition of Spektor, and the fact that there are more upbeat than slow songs on this album. It's very clear that this masterpiece took Folds and his collaborative team a great deal of work and time. It truly is wonderful. Thank you, Ben.

This album is great. I love his story about playing in Japan and falling off the stage, the song is great. And You Don't Know Me is a great addition to the album, "I wanna ask you, 'Do you ever sit and wonder it's so strange that we can be together for so long and never know, never care what goes on in the other one's head.'" I think this song really tells a story about how many couples, and likely everyone knows one of these couples, that really don't even know each other. Bitch Went Nuts and Effington are two of my personal favorites.

"We saw the couple in the coma and It was we were the cliche, But we carried on anyway". wow, this is why i love bens music, so honest! cologne, hiroshima, you dont know me, and the frown song are A+! I love the frown song as a waitress it's SO true and refreshing to hear, laugh, and bitch about. Can't Wait to see him 2/19 Smiling

After my first listen to the new album there were a couple songs that just stand out immediately as really good.... Hiroshima and You Don't Know Me would be the two I'm referring to -great tracks.

But after listening to the album a few more times there are just certain songs you can't get out of your head. In particular Effington, The Frown Song, Cologne, Dr. Yang.... I could keep going but I'm realizing it's almost the rest of the album so I'll leave it at those 4 because they're definitely ones you should give a second or third listen to if you passed them by the first time.

All in all GREAT album, I can't stop listening to it.

I was super excited when I heard about this album last month, and pre-ordered it on the spot Smiling

While I admit there are a couple of songs on the album I wasn't too fond of, the album as a whole is fantastic, and the sheer brilliance of cologne and effington more than make up for any other shortcomings!!

I also love the videos from Ben's studio. I actually didn't realize the 'fake' Cologne video was shot in Ben's studio until about the 5th time I saw it!! HIlarious!

Can't wait to see you in Dallas in a couple weeks, and I'm also anxious to see if this new drummer will perform as well as Lindsay did.

Peace,
-David

This CD had me excited for months, especially after I found out about the fake leak Ben released. I had heard some songs in concert already, but the fully orchestrated CD was just plain mind-blowing. The songs are beautiful, hilarious, and just plain cool. You've done it once again Ben.
