Trio's First Tour Since 2000 To Include June Festival Concerts at Bonnaroo, Milwaukee Summerfest & Chicago's Old St. Patrick's Church Block Party
First New Album Since 1998 Coming in September
Ben Folds Five--the groundbreaking piano-bass-drums pop trio who changed the course of indie rock in the mid-1990s--hit the stage at New York's Mountain Jam Festival on Saturday, June 2, for the band's first concert in years.
Recently reunited to cut three tracks for The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective, Ben Folds Five's original members--Ben Folds (piano, vocals), Robert Sledge (bass, backing vocals), Darren Jessee (drums, backing vocals)--found themselves reconnected to the electricity that drove their sound back in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in 1994.
Newly revitalized, BFF began work on a brand-new album at Ben's studio in Nashville. The new Ben Folds Five album may be pre-ordered on Pledge Music, alongside deep collectibles for fans.
In the wake of the group's triumphal return at Mountain Jam, Ben Folds Five will perform a short run of key US festival dates this summer.
BFF will return to the road this fall with a major North American tour kicking off at New York's Central Park on September 14 with dates in the UK, Ireland and Australia to follow. More dates in the Ben Folds Five 2012-2013 tour itinerary TBA.
General audience tickets for Ben Folds Five Central Park show go on sale Saturday, June 9.
