I was crazy happy to see that you were coming to Bellingham -- I only found out at the last minute but was able to get on down for the show. Last time, last year, we trekked down to Tacoma to see you, but this year, a trip to Seattle just wasn't in the cards for me.

You sounded surprised, when you asked the crowd where everyone was from, to hear the cheers from those of us from Vancouver. Why you no come to Vancouver to do a show? You go to Australia, all over Europe, Japan... but no dates in Canada, not ever ever. I expressed my dismay and puzzlement to the US border guards as they searched my car on my way down. They surmised a drug conviction or something (those suspicious border folks!). And I think to myself, yes, self, that could be true -- but wouldn't some of these other countries refuse you entry too? Since when has Canada been fussy about drug convictions of performers, anyway?

So I concluded that perhaps you don't know just how admired you are by some of us up here. And here I am, months later, still silly happy to have seen you in Bellingham, and wishing to let you know, so that there is no doubt: you are adored.

I would love to see you come just a wee bit further north some time. You can stay at my mom's house -- it's easier to get to than mine, and it's nicer, plus she has a better piano.

Most importantly, the Oct 31st show with the Minneapolis Orchestra was AMAZING. As an anniversary gift for my wife, we thouroughly enjoyed the concert. Well worth travelling 900 kms from Canada.

The merch table however was a mess. Apparently there were signs on the wall saying Men's sizes on left and Women's sizes on right. I ended up, much to my surprise the next day, that I accidentally bought a Ladies Size Large. Customers were grabbing merch left and right... the meager staff working at the table had little control of the situation and I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of stuff got stolen. I hope not,.. and I think most true fans wouldn't steal from an artist... but it was a crazy situation.

As previously mentioned... the show itself was fantastic. We are huge fans (even named our 2 year old, Gracie)... and wish you all the best in the future.
